An Accompanied Race

An Accompanied Race

The 2019 world athletics championships kicked off in doha on Wednesday. On the first day of the competition, the people who won the most applause in the stadium of khalifa were not the defending 100-meter champion gatlin or the 400-meter hurdles champion samba, who carried Qatar's gold hopes, but one who was far behind in the preliminary.
Exhausted Busby began to stumble and almost fall. Then something more unexpected happened. Dabo slowed down, came to his opponent, took his left hand and put it on his shoulder. The audience was moved by dabo's heart-warming gesture, many people stood up, the audience applauded and cheered everywhere.
Busby's achievement was not recognized because of the help he received from others. Dabo finished last, nearly five minutes behind the group heat leader. After the game, dabo was mobbed by reporters in the mixed press area, apparently embarrassed by a pile of microphones and recording pens thrust out in front of him. When asked if he felt he had acted like a hero, he shook his head and smiled.
"Today, my goal was to represent my country and achieve a personal best, but I found it impossible to do so. There's no point in trying to get past him. "I just wanted to help him get to the finish line together. It was an unforgettable experience for me to represent my country for the first time."
What the pristine dabo may not realize is that, as guinea-bissau's only competitor, he left an equally memorable memory in Doha.
